MY STORY
Hi there! My name is Annie Walker and I'm a professional Graphic and Fashion Designer with more than 14 years experience. I started painting when I was young and over the years have developed my hands-on skills in many different areas from graphics to fashion, to architectural design courses and believe it or not working on cars. I'm originally from Evanston, Illinois; a suburb outside of Chicago and almost right after high school I moved to Los Angeles with a few hundred dollars, my 5 week old kitten and my car. I developed my professional skills working at Nordstroms in Beverly Hills and after a little over a year I moved to Austin, Texas for college. I transferred to Miami to complete my Bachelor's degree at Barry University and later then moved with my husband to Las Vegas and Dallas for a few years each and now I currently reside in Vero Beach, Florida. We also travel back and forth to Costa Rica where after 9 years of having a full concept of a home designed, we are achieving it.
Before starting Annie Walker Designs, I worked in-house at a prestigious invitation studio, Allie Munroe in Miami, Florida. There I designed for TinyPrints, Shutterfly and Wedding Paper Divas. Now I sell my own work on Minted.com and Mpix.com, two of the leading online invitation and photo companies. In 2017, I won a competition with the first ever collaboration with Minted and Pottery Barn for an art piece that had 7500 submissions. I was 1 of 30 designs to have their work featured that year.
In 2018 I started a new company, The Cool Ppl. Its an activewear and swimwear brand line for women, men and youth that combines my graphic designs and love of fashion. It's bright, fun and full of color in a world of black leggings. Check it out at thecoolppl.com.
I have a strong understanding of print and web media, production, and a real interest in keeping up with the latest trends but having my own sometimes out of the box esthetic. Beyond interactive experiences, I have a true passion for knowledge, travel, fashion and architecture. I love laughter, banter and jokes, especially when it's between my 4 siblings and I. I have an identical twin sister that as I get older I've started to realize my designs are a reflection of that unique relationship.
My passion is creating iconic designs and communications for my clients that provoke feelings of excitement and simplicity.
